# Sequences

> Build and run multi-step outreach flows with the visual canvas builder.

A **sequence** is an automated outreach workflow — a series of steps that harp executes in order for each enrolled contact.

## Creating a sequence

Go to **Sequences** and click **Create sequence**. Give it a name and optionally set:

* **Schedule** — which days and hours steps can execute
* **Timezone** — for schedule enforcement
* **Throttle** — max steps per day

## The canvas builder

The canvas is a visual editor where you drag and connect steps. Each step is a node on the canvas.

### Step types

**Email**

* Compose a message with template variables (e.g., `{{first_name}}`, `{{company_name}}`)
* Add A/B test variants to test different subject lines or body copy

**LinkedIn actions**

* Visit profile, send connection request, send message, follow, like posts, send InMail, withdraw invite, scrape profile

**Flow control**

* **Wait** — pause for a specified duration before the next step
* **Condition** — branch based on whether the contact replied, connected, etc.
* **Check replies** — wait for and detect email replies
* **Filter connected** — branch based on LinkedIn connection status
* **End** — terminate the sequence for this contact

### Connecting steps

Drag from a step's output handle to another step's input handle to connect them. Condition steps have two outputs — one for "yes" and one for "no".

## A/B testing

Add variants to any email step. harp splits enrolled contacts across variants and tracks performance per variant. Check results in **Analytics > A/B tests**.

## Enrolling contacts

Click **Enroll contacts** to add contacts to a running sequence. You can:

* Select individual contacts
* Filter by account, ICP score, tags, or other criteria

> [!WARNING]
>
> Contacts already enrolled in the same sequence will be skipped. A contact can only be enrolled once per sequence.

## Managing enrollments

From the sequence detail page, view all enrollments and their status. You can pause or unenroll individual contacts.

## Work Queue

The **Work Queue** tab on the Sequences page shows all pending manual steps across your active sequences.

### Stats bar

The top of the queue displays key metrics: Ready, Waiting, Replied, Completed today, and Daily sends remaining.

### Filtering

Filter the queue by sequence, step type, or contact name to focus on what matters.

### Actions per item

Each work queue item supports these actions:

* **Guide me** — opens the guided completion panel with step-by-step instructions, contact context, and warnings
* **Done** — quick-complete the step with optional notes
* **Evaluate** — for condition steps, choose a branch with reasoning
* **Complete early** — for wait steps, skip the remaining delay with confirmation

### Enrollment timeline

Navigate to `/sequences/[id]/enrollments/[enrollmentId]` to see the full step-by-step journey for any enrollment — completed steps, current position, and upcoming steps.

## Suppression rules

Add suppression rules to prevent outreach to specific domains, emails, or companies. Suppression is checked before every step execution.
